David Schroeder
Danville Municipal Band music director David Schroeder is a Danville native and has been active in music most of his life. David credits his parents as well as his music teachers from Trinity Lutheran School, Danville High School and the University of Illinois as his influences for pursuing music as a career. David graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor's Degree in Comprehensive Music Education (choral and instrumental) in 1984 and has taught in both the public and private school arenas for twenty one years. David is currently the Music Specialist at Northeast Elementary Magnet school in Danville (Dist. 118) where he has implemented band for fourth and fifth grade students and teaches general music classes. David is also the Director of Parish Music for Trinity Lutheran Church where he directs the choir, hand chimes, and serves as the organist. Community musical activities include performing with the Danville Symphony, director of the Vermilion Festival Chorus, Board member of the Vermilion Heritage Foundation (Fischer Theatre) and the newly formed Lincoln Park Theatre Company. David is an active member of the American Theatre Organ Society where he serves as an organist for the Headback Theatre in Indianapolis and hopes to one day be the house organist for the Fischer Theatre. David is on the instructional staff for the Danville High School "Band of Vikings", and is proud to be the director of the Danville Municipal Band since 1990.
